Charlotte Alberta Fuson

October 6, 1934 — May 17, 2025

Charlotte Alberta Fuson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 90. Born on October 6, 1934, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Charlotte was the youngest of 14 siblings and a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched. She was the daughter of Albert and Bessie Mae Hoch, who instilled in her the values of generosity, resourcefulness, and resilience.

Charlotte’s life was marked by love and adventure. She married Harold Fuson and embraced the role of a military wife for 27 years, where she had the unique opportunity to travel the world and call over seven places home. This life on the move was not just about changing addresses; it was about experiencing different cultures, making lifelong friendships, and collecting beautiful memories.

Charlotte was a loving mother to her son, Kevin Fuson, who preceded her in death, and her legacy continues through her three surviving children: Brian Fuson and his wife Anna, along with their children Noah and Olivia; Karin Fuson Farrell and her husband Charles, and her children Skyler Knight and Katrina Noah married to Ray, and their children Porter and Sienna; and Wendi Fuson Potts, along with her husband Robert, with children Lucas Potts and his wife Megan, and Sarah Potts White with her husband Derryne. Charlotte was blessed with six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (and Baby Girl Potts due in July), who brought her immense joy and pride.

In addition to her dedication to family, Charlotte had a passion for gardening, sewing, interior design, and treating herself to a dinner out. But nothing beat a good home-cooked dinner for her. She loved spending time with her daughter, Wendi, along with her family, celebrating birthdays and holidays. You can spot her smiling and laughing in family pictures throughout the decades. She found joy in playing Solitaire and MahJong, and reading the daily newspaper, Reader's Digest, or a plethora of magazines from which she would clip useful information for her family. Known for her fiercely independent spirit, Charlotte was full of life and approached each day with enthusiasm and grace. She always said she wanted to live to be 100. Her favorite saying was: "Just think positive." Her caring nature and loyalty to her friends made her a cherished companion to many.

A celebration of Charlotte’s life will be held on May 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends and family will gather to honor a woman who was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a vibrant spirit who touched hearts wherever she went. In her memory, let us remember her fierce independence, her loving generosity, and the laughter she shared so freely. Drive safe, Mom.
